Linnies
The lineolated parakeet or "Linnie" is one of the calmest and quietest members of the parrot family, making them ideal pets. Known to make comical little pets, the highly social lineolated parakeet makes a very entertaining family member, always eager to spend time playing with its human flockmates. These playful birds are quieter than most parakeets, and can be very able talkers, enunciating quite clearly. These birds are also very good at mimicking sounds and whistles! Hand-Raised Linnies greatly enjoy snuggles and will accept all the humans in their family easily.

Following proper breeding protocol set by the LPS for purity in the Linnie lines, we ALWAYS pair a green factor with a blue factor when possible, UNLESS both birds are from a Green to Blue pairing and the next generation is bred back to Natural Greens. We also never pair recessive or "fault" mutations together, such as Ino to Ino, GW to GW, or DD to DD (Double Dark factor).
All Linnie babies are closed banded for permanent identification for the life of the bird. Contrary to popular internet rumors, closed bands are completely safe. There is no split that can get caught on things, and they cannot be closed tighter on the leg. Our Linnie bands are made of lightweight aluminum with our aviary name, the year of hatch, and the Baby's number of hatch within that year. Each band is written carefully in all of our notes to identify each bird. No two bands will ever be the same. Your Baby's band number and color will be written in multiple places for your records.

** Do not remove your bird's band. It is there to help serve as identification in the event your bird flies off and you need to claim them. Removal of their band also nullifies your Health Guarantee, as we can only be certain it's our bird if it wears our band. **
